Mechanic – Student, STAT MedEvac

The UPMC Center for Emergency Medicine is looking to hire a Student Mechanic to help support STAT MedEvac.
Schedule:
Monday-Friday
2:30 pm to 6:30 pm
Purpose:
The student mechanic is directly responsible to the Fixed Base Maintenance Manager. He/she is responsible for the jobs assigned to him/her on the Center for Emergency MEdicine of Western PA, Inc. property. He/She will always be under the supervision of an appropriately rated aircraft mechanic that is employed by the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western PA.
Responsibilities:
Will maintain adequate levels of parts stock at base to ensure no shortages.
Will perform a daily cleaning of the aircraft as required.
Provides the Maintenance Manager with the current airworthiness status of the base aircraft and associated parts.
Updates and maintains currency of the aircraft computer run status report for the aircraft assigned to his/her base.
Maintains all manufacturers and company manuals in a current condition. Ensures all manuals are revised as soon as the revision is received.
Assures that all work that is done is inspected by an appropriately rated mechanic that is employed by the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western PA.
Ensures compliance with all FAA, manufacturer, and company maintenance requirements for all Center for Emergency Medicine of Western PA, Inc. aircraft assigned with the help of an appropriately rated mechanic employed by the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western PA.
Monitors base site tool calibrations.
Maintain ground support equipment assigned to the base and may be responsible for monitoring and maintaining local fuel storage / dispensing system depending on location.
Monitors shelf-life limitations of all parts and supplies as applicable.
Perform all shipping and receiving as required for the Center for Emergency Medicine of Western PA, Inc.
Assures that no defective or un-airworthy part or components are installed on any aircraft.
Ensure all parts, components, sub-components, and consumables are received, inspected, and properly tagged.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
Excellent coordination skills
Basic computer skills including the ability to use work processing, computer database and spreadsheet software
Must be enrolled or planning on enrolling in an aviation school or an associated field related to aviation
Must have a high school diploma or equivalent.
May in the course of their duties be in rooms where medications are stored. No contact with medications is allowed
