Occupational Therapist (OT)

Provides occupational therapy assessment and treatment using advanced clinical skills in a specialty area of occupational therapy for patients referred to non-contracted and contracted facilities of the Rehabilitation Institute. Serves as a clinical resource for other staff members. May have an individual agreement with an academic institution for instructional services. Participates in research conducted within the Rehabilitation Institute.
Responsibilities:
1. Maintains written documentation for all occupational therapy services.
2. Communicates patients status to the healthcare team.
3. Completes necessary charge and statistical information.
4. Schedules patients to meet productivity standards while ensuring quality care.
5. Provides home instructions to patients and families.
6. Supervises students in clinical education programs.
7. Maintains professional license through continuing education.
8. Performs and supervises occupational therapy assessments and treatments.
9. Rotates through treatment areas as needed.
10. Actively participates in staff meetings and in-service education programs.

Graduate of an accredited program approved by The Accreditation Council for Occupational Therapy Education (ACOTE)
Must possess knowledge and skills required to provide quality customer service.
Licensure, Certifications, and Clearances:
Active license in practicing state required. CPR required based on AHA standards that include both a didactic and skills demonstration component within 30 days of hire.
Basic Life Support (BLS) OR Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation (CPR)
National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT)
