Responsibilities:
Demonstrate critical thinking to identify clinical, social, and psychological needs, improving patient safety, quality, and satisfaction.
Identify opportunities for clinical quality and workplace improvement, applying evidence-based practices regularly.
Lead or participate in teams that implement innovations in patient care and support a healthy workforce.
Serve as a role model in clinical expertise, teaching, and evidence-based practice, providing feedback and participating in peer review.
Promote change to enhance patient care and the unit environment through leadership in shared governance and hospital-wide councils.
Passionately mentor and precept students, graduate nurses, and new hires, fostering continuous learning and improvement.
Use the nursing process within Relationship-Based Care to develop patient-centered care plans, addressing holistic needs and ensuring comprehensive communication.
Build strong relationships among colleagues, model cultural awareness, and maintain work-life balance through effective prioritization.
Provide age-appropriate care, applying knowledge of growth and development across the lifespan to assess and address patient needs.
Minimum 2 years of nursing experience preferred
Must maintain strong performance evaluations and demonstrate exemplary clinical judgment, critical thinking, and problem-solving abilities.
Ability to work effectively in a complex environment, manage multiple priorities, and use specialized equipment.
Must complete annual professional contributions or obtain UPMC-approved nursing certification within 1 year
Required certifications: BLS/CPR (within 30 days), ACLS, PALS (within 1 year), NIH Stroke Scale (within 6 months), and CCMC (within 60 days).
Must hold current RN licensure in the state or a multistate license if applicable.
Clearances: Act 31, Act 33, Act 34, Act 73 FBI, with renewals as needed.
