Entry-level drop technician for Bristol Construction Services

No experience needed; will train on site.

Monday to Friday, report at Kapolei office at 7:00 am to 4:00 pm with opportunities to pick up over-time

Description:

Splice fiber optic cables, including loose tube and ribbon optic cables.

Construct a proper splice case, including but not limited to grounding, bonding, isolation, slack storage, and sealing.

Read and interpret work orders, specifications, engineering drawings and/or cut sheets to determine work to be done in sequence of task.

Perform work following industry standards.

Be familiar with BICSI standards, read and follow design engineers’ instructions and specifications, maintain the scope of work on the project and adhere to safety procedures.

Interpret buried underground and aerial telecom facilities in records, on maps, and in the field with clarity and detail, and make recommendations for changes in running lines or construction methodologies.

Maintain inside and outside plant records during installation.

Participate in engineering, permit, and construction processes to support project contracts.

Perform routine maintenance.

Recognize and repair route issues, including maintenance, hand hole cleanup, and sign placement.

Connect wires and cables to terminals and attaches/detaches various kinds of hardware to wires, cables, buildings, or poles.

Respond to and participate in emergency and outage situations that require heavy construction capabilities.

Ensure that all work considers the customers and general publics safety and compliance with all governmental orders.

Able and willing to work outdoors and in inclement weather conditions.

Complete daily production reports and As-Built documentation on prints
