The Division of Epidemiology at the University of Maryland School of Medicine, Institute of Human Virology (IHV)is currently comprised of 14 Faculty conducting research and implementing programs in the U.S. and globally.The Global Health Specialist – EPIwill assist the Division of Epidemiology faculty with the management of projects, including new business development and proposal management, program planning and monitoring implementation plans, tracking activities and milestones, and bridging technical and operational needs. This position is expected to function independently, exercise discretion, and contributes to assignments and projects that require significant evaluation, originality, and ingenuity. Willingness to travel internationally is required. Primary Duties: Coordinate and monitor of project grant requirements and milestones. Development effective and efficient program tools to support progress reports and new grant submissions. Support Faculty to prepare annual progress reports, annual budgets, and new proposals. Draft IRB submissions and related protocol documents. Analyze and synthesize information and data to optimize best practices and in-line with any study requirements. Prepare NIH biosketches, other support documents, manuscripts, abstracts, and presentations as needed. Collate material for management meetings, committee materials, etc.as needed for PIs. Support the development a functional knowledge and project management system. Perform other duties assigned. Education:Bachelors degree Preferred Education:Masters degree in public health, business, or related field. Experience:Two (2) years administrative or program coordination experience. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.
