REQUIREMENTS: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent. Required by WV licensing: Must have a CDA credential and 300 hours of relevant work experience working with children OR 12 college credits in an early care and education field and 300 hours of relevant experience working with children OR 10 years of relevant work experience. Drug test and background check upon offer of employment. Requirements after hire: Apply to WV STARS Career Pathway, complete 15 hours of approved training each year, child abuse and neglect training, first aid and CPR training, necessary licensing for working with children in WV and meet all licensing requirements for a Type I Center in WV. JOB DESCRIPTION: You will run all aspects of the Ritchie County Childcare facility, which provides care for children 6 weeks through 5 years of age. This might entail working on curriculum or new concepts for the children to learn. Hiring child care providers to read, talk to, play with, and nurturing the children in the center. May even involve setting up security systems. As the director, you will have the responsibility of the day-to-day operations of the center but will have the peace of mind to have Administrative support. Must have a passion for working with children, strong leadership skills, strong communication skills, have a positive and energetic approach to work, be able to motivate, hire and train new teachers and support staff. Must be flexible and adapt to change and be physically able to work with young children. Day shift-no nights and no weekends. Paid holidays and paid time off. Pay is based on education and experience and will be discussed at the time of the interview.
