Description and Requirements

This position is in a fast paced and challenging environment. Ideal candidates will work with minimal direct supervision and will concurrently handle and prioritize many responsibilities within the Fulfillment Center Operations. This position reports directly to the Plant Manager.

Primary responsibilities are:

Manages standard operating procedures and directs an aggressive operating plan.

Operating in a goal driven environment that identifies and directs lean concepts and cost savings opportunities.

Has face-to-face contact with client management and conforms to agreed upon operational metrics.

Challenge is to motivate and lead program operational needs while driving resiliency in business systems and process while improving site efficiencies.

Engaging the team to maintain an entrepreneurial mindset.

Oversees the daily organizational activities and facilitates the business unit’s workflow.

Manages and directs the daily activities of multiple operations functions.

Determines workflow and scheduling and enforces operational polices and procedures.

Relies on experience and sound data to make business decisions that supports the organizational goals.

Makes recommendations to improve the productivity, quality, and efficient delivery of products, KPI’s and services within the organization.

Responsible for planning and directing operational budgets, goals, staffing and business unit’s objectives.

Lead operational activities to enhance functional capabilities, efficiencies, and culture. This includes resource and capability planning, contracts management, demand/capacity modeling, facilitation and moderation of team meetings, and general support of departmental goals.

In collaboration with function leadership, forecast, construct, and manage budgets. Forecast and manage implications of alternative development scenarios.

Provide leadership and develop strategic recommendations to ensure all functional areas operate within the current Plan/Update budget.

Required Qualifications:

Education: BS or BA degree or equivalent experience in Logistic Operations. Fulfillment Center/Distribution experience required.

Proven track record in operations management (8-10 years minimum experience)

Must have experience in a Distribution Center with high mix/high volume environments.

Intermediate knowledge of Warehouse Management Systems (SFDC, SAP, Oracle, etc…)

Preferred Qualifications:

Advanced knowledge of standard business processes and systems including project management practices, portfolio review, finance, and budgeting is strongly preferred.

Operations experience with large budget and matrixed environment is preferred.

Demonstrated leadership skills and track record for successful project management and inventory management strategies.

Strong planning and organizational skills and the ability to work effectively and efficiently in a dynamic environment with competing projects and deadlines. Ability to manage multiple priorities/projects.

Experienced in situations of conflict resolution and problem solving. Proactive and positive team player. Ability to build strong business relationships, foster teamwork, and influence decision-making at multiple levels.

Metrics measurements (i.e. delivery, costs, quality audits, exceeding all internal KPI metrics)

Continuous Improvement Quality process (i.e. Lean Mfg, Six Sigma, ISO)

Safety Program compliance (OSHA, DOT, and state and local agencies)

Proven competencies in (i.e. Word, Excel, Access, MS Office)
