Description
Johnson & Johnson is currently seeking Learning & Development Manager to join our Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine Supply Chain organization located in Wilson, North Carolina.
This role may require periods of increased travel to support startup activities based on functional needs and project timelines. In some cases, this could involve frequent travel and/or short-term stays with vendors, sister companies, or partners. In steady state, we expect travel to be <10%.
J&J is expanding our manufacturing capacity with $2 billion investment to support strong portfolio growth and continue delivering breakthrough innovation and transformational medicines for patients. The new facility will expand production of innovative biologic medicines in areas including oncology, immunology, and neuroscience. As the Learning and Development Manager, you will have the unique opportunity to shape the learning programs for our new biologics manufacturing organization. You will be responsible for designing, developing, and implementing world-class learning initiatives that will enhance the skills and competencies of our team. This role is critical in ensuring the flawless execution of our training programs and driving the success of our mission.
Key Responsibilities:
Create, maintain, and deliver new hire training programs to ensure a strong foundation for our team members and site.
Identify ongoing learning and development needs of the different functional teams and design targeted programs to address knowledge gaps and enhance manufacturing reliability and execution.
Act as an instructional designer, applying adult learning principles to construct and update programs aligned with business objectives.
Collaborate with other sites around the globe to benchmark, leverage, and create an industry leading training approach.
Conduct environmental scanning to identify potential learning gaps and implement programs to address them. Work to be a champion of continuous learning and a continuous improvement mindset.
Build from ground up our learning & development philosophy, structure, and infrastructure working directly with department leads to align with startup and base business needs.
Develops actionable insights by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing data and information from Training systems and various sources.
Establishes priorities to deliver on training program KPIs Lead and develop learning and development team.
Ensures site training program and strategy is consistent with GMP requirements and company requirements.
Lead by example and striving to perform to high standards at all times in compliance with Credo and Standards of leadership.
Directly responsible for the training program during relevant internal and external audits.
Qualifications
Required:
Bachelors Degree in a relevant field
A minimum of 6 years of relevant experience within a pharmaceutical or GMP regulated Operations environment.
Experience in people leadership.
Work experience in a chemical, pharmaceutical, medical device, or similarly regulated manufacturing industry.
Proven experience in instructional design, learning management systems, and adult learning principles.
Ability to collaborate effectively with internal partners to identify common goals and achieve them.
Strong interpersonal skills, with the ability to maintain excellent working relationships and function as a proactive team player.
Cultural sensitivity and ability to work and thrive in a multi-cultural, matrix environment.
Flexibility and adaptability in an evolving supply chain environment, with a focus on organizational development.
Customer-focused and results-driven, acting with speed, flexibility, and accountability to achieve goals.
Understand the impact of your work on the broader enterprise, using this insight to make effective decisions and prioritize tasks to deliver results.
Availability to support training during nights or weekends as required by the manufacturing schedule.
Advanced proficiency in speaking, reading, and writing in English
Preferred:
Operations experience within a life sciences or biopharmaceutical environment
Experience with change management, promotion, program marketing
Experience with GMP documentation Systems
Experience with virtual reality or other advanced learning capabilities
