A customer centric member of the department team who is capable of performing all tasks necessary to unload, check, weigh, record, and deliver incoming shipments and those tasks necessary to weigh, check, package, and load outgoing shipments.
You will have the opportunity to:
Participates in the continuous improvement process by making suggestions to Supervisor.
Ensures that all housekeeping requirements are met.
Follows established procedures and SOP’s for receiving incoming shipments and for packaging and loading outgoing materials.
Recognizes and controls the hazards associated with the work and properly responds to unexpected safety or environmental situations.
Verifies contents, specifications, quantities, weights, etc., against Receiving/Shipping documents and for ensuring that containers/packages are properly labeled and identified.
Performs specified operator maintenance and preventative maintenance on assigned equipment.
Constructs necessary shipping containers, frequently to unusual size or configurations.
Checks for damaged material and informs appropriate personnel before unloading/loading, delivery, etc.
Delivers incoming material to specified locations and informs purchaser of its arrival.
Assures that materials are properly stored and protected.
Actively participates in training and development programs, team meetings, and team activities. Recommends improvements in procedures and seeks to eliminate waste.
Checks incoming material for radioactivity with a Geiger Counter as required.
Keeps, enters records/data as required.
Prepares summaries/reports and presents data/information as required.
Keeps Supervisor informed of needed supplies, repairs or service.
Reports equipment operating irregularities/malfunctions which are beyond the individual’s control to resolve.
May be required to make off-plant pick-ups and/or deliveries utilizing Company vehicles, provided individual has required driver’s license.
Perform other duties as required for the business needs.
Requirements:
Individual must have a High School Diploma or GED.
Must be able to work independently or as a member of a team to meet demands.
Must possess basic computer skills, such as Microsoft Office products and email.
Must have good verbal and written skills.
Must have knowledge of basic math skills.
Must demonstrate effective interpersonal skills to provide customer service.
SAP knowledge preferred.
Supply chain knowledge with an emphasis on shipping/receiving preferred.
3 months of forklift experience preferred.
The selection of the person to be hired for this position is contingent on the candidate having export compliance eligibility for access to U.S. controlled technology which comes under the licensing jurisdiction of the U.S. Department of State, International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) and the U.S. Department of Commerce, Export Administration Regulations (EAR).
The candidate selected will have to qualify as either a U.S. citizen, a U.S. National, a lawful permanent resident of the U.S., a Person Admitted into the U.S. as an Asylee or Refugee., a National of a country that is not prohibited from having access to U.S. controlled technology (via a letter of assurance), or a Person to be approved for an export license by the governing agency whose technology comes under its jurisdiction. Please understand that any job offer that requires approval of an export license will be conditional on Materion’s determination that it will be able to obtain an export license in a time frame consistent with Materion’s business requirements.
