Job Summary

The Teacher Tutor will provide tutorial support to high school students in one or more of the following areas – Mathematics, Science and English.

Required Qualification(s)

-High School Diploma or equivalent

-Experience as a certified teacher, certified substitute teacher, certified tutor or tutor.

-Has the experience of working well with low-income, first-generation students of diverse backgrounds.

Desired Qualification(s)

-Experience teaching or tutoring.

-Bilingual in Spanish and English

Special Instructions Summary

Part-time flex employees are not eligible to participate in certain benefit offerings at the College, including tuition reimbursement, tuition waiver, or health insurance. Part-time flex employees will be eligible for paid time off dependent on scheduled hours.

This is a grant funded position; continued employment in this position is based on external funding sources.

Pay Rate $19.62/HR (THIS IS FIRM)

Location Extension Sites

Total Hours per week 4-8 hours per week

Work Schedule

May work afterschool and/or during lunch periods at ETS school sites (Waukegan HS, Zion-Benton HS, North Chicago HS, or Round Lake HS).

Summary of Essential Functions

-Leads and provides tutoring in English, Math or Science.

-Leads study sessions, as needed, utilizing identified curriculum software and on-line products.

-Provides ACT / SAT Prep sessions, as needed (1-on-1 or small group).

-Completes attendance sheets and tracks progress.

-Performs other duties, as needed and/or assigned.
