Material Analyst / Planning Team Lead

Primary Responsibilities and Duties
Support Supply Chain Manager in development and execution of an inventory and production strategy using lean JIT concepts to minimize on hand inventory and transportation costs while also supporting customer demands for reduced lead times in accordance with policies and the Ammega Production System.
Manage all Planning Department processes to include but not limited to:  Material order placements, confirmation of lead time requests for quotes, confirmation and entry of orders into our ERP system, configuration, material selection, and build documentation for orders, system data management, etc.
Developing work instructions and executing training plans for the department.
Working with Manager to maintain training manual and materials.
Assigning tasks to team members from the Planner Task List.
Develop team members with skills to improve their confidence and product knowledge.
Supporting other departmental needs as they arise, helping solve issues and problems.
Escalate complex issues to management for resolution.
Contributing to the growth of the company through an engaged team through strong exhibition of Ammega values.
Creating a pleasant working environment that inspires the team.
Setting a schedule to level load work to production by running and analyzing reports.
Handles all expedites from request, approval, order planning and hand off to production.
Ensures all safety procedures are followed and actively works to improve our safety program.
Ensures all quality procedures are followed and actively works to improve our quality program.
Works to maintain a clean & organized working environment (5s)
Ability to work overtime if needed.
Filling in for the Department Manager as needed.
Other duties as assigned.
Knowledge and Skill Requirements
BA Degree Preferred or may consider High School Diploma and equivalent experience.
Minimum of 5 years material and production planning experience.
Excellent communication skills.
Confidence and skillful negotiating skills.
Computer skills (MS Word, Excel, Power Point) ABW or ERP skills.
Strong organizational skills to give the team direction.
Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
Must be able to work in the US.
