JOB SUMMARY: Controller will also act as key business partner to senior management, external auditors and outside vendors. Lead the accounting transformation including MandA, automation, implementation, integration and change management efforts; implementing change and creating programs to increase efficiency both within accounting and cross-functionally from a strategic growth and cost perspective.

ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

Accounting Oversight

– Oversee corporate accounting functions.
– Accountable to produce monthly accurate, supportable and timely financial reports in accordance with GAAP for all corporate and individual accounting operations.
– Manage and direct accurate and timely closing cycles of financial systems.
– Overall responsibility for accurate and timely consolidation of monthly financial statement of all legal entities and delivery on monthly financial package
– Responsible for managing annual close calendars, financial filing and board meetings.
– Run audit internally, partnering with external auditors, reviewing financial statements and other audit matters.

Technical Accounting

– Own the development and training of accounting policies
– Ensure proper application of ASC606 to long term and short term projects
– Ensure material are evaluated based on US GAAP rules for the appropriate accounting treatments, prepare white papers to support and implement appropriate accounting policies to support treatment.
– Advise business and other stakeholders on accounting rules and regulations.
– Oversee MandA accounting and annual impairment analysis.
– Evaluate new accounting rule and develop implementation plans for adopting applicable changes.
– Responsible for setting materiality policy and performing analysis for materiality thresholds and proposed changes

Corporate Accounting

– Ownership of chart of accounts.
– Responsible for month-end close process and deliver of monthly financials. Ensure accuracy to revenue recognition, project accounting, WIP and overall financials.
– Responsible for establishing close policies and ensure business adherence to due dates.
– Assist with financial statement process; ensure controls are effective, performed timely and are updated with process changes.

Additional Functions

– Assist in due diligence and integration for MandA activities and integration. Acquisition accounting as needed.
– Assist in efforts in implementation, automation, optimization and process improvements from accounting perspective cross-functionally
– Attract, hire and retain talent as needed.

QUALIFICATIONS FOR ENTRY:

Education and Experience

– 8 years of progressive experience in accounting, including proven experience as a Controller or in accounting leadership
– CPA preferred
– Previous general ledger experience in construction or manufacturing company preferred
– Experience in B2B client services or related industry
– Displayed expertise in assisting in technical accounting including financials, research, and crafting accounting policy; thorough understanding of ASC 606 and other applicable policy
– Expertise in project-based accounting including utilization rates, percentage of completion
– Demonstrated leadership ability
– Proven experience in change management, optimization, implementation, and strategic growth/cost savings
