Shermco Industries is seeking a Payroll Manager

PAYROLL MANAGER

Join our accounting team at our Corporate Headquarters in Irving, Texas. We are seeking an experienced payroll expert to effectively perform and efficiently manage all aspects of weekly payroll for our multi-state U.S. workforce of 600 technicians, engineers, sales and support personnel. Shermco is the largest independent electrical testing company in North America with 11 locations and has been recognized 7 times as a Best Place to Work.

Minimum Qualifications: to qualify for consideration, you must meet each of the following minimum qualifications and requirements:

– 8 years of progressive experience with all aspects of multi-state payroll administration.
– Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) desired.
– Strong knowledge of outsourced payroll services, preferably using Ceridian Dayforce HCM.
– Bachelors Degree preferred in Accounting or similar; or equivalent combination of education and experience may substitute.
– Must be able to work independently and proactively, with excellent organization and time management skills.
– Ability to effectively and professionally communicate in writing and orally with all levels of personnel, from front-line staff to senior executives.
– Strong arithmetic skills and functional knowledge of accounting principles including journal entries, general ledger, and bank reconciliations.
– Proficiency using Microsoft, Excel, Outlook, data entry and internet; Microsoft Navision knowledge a plus.

Job Responsibilities and Expectations:

– Perform all daily, weekly and quarterly tasks for payroll from start to finish for the entire U.S. organization.
– Prepare certified payroll reports in compliance with Davis-Bacon Act.
– Ensure the company is in compliance with payroll laws and tax regulations as they vary from state to state.
– Ensure that all payroll procedures, interfaces and audits are documented as needed.
– Monitor Ceridians payment of payroll taxes on behalf of the company.
– Proactively research and respond to payroll tax notices in a timely manner.
– Manage the preparation of annual W-2 and related tax filings, as well as any other regulatory requirements (health insurance reporting, etc.)
– Proactively monitor all system requirements related to the payroll, and timekeeping applications by working in conjunction with internal IT and outside consultants.
– Responsible for managing tasks associated with the companys 401(k) plan.
– Ensure accuracy of all system-generated calculation of payments for overtime, bonus, commission, PTO and termination pay.
– Manage garnishment process for all locations.
– Ensure payroll reporting and payments are compliant with company policy, generally accepted accounting principles, and federal, state and IRS regulations
– Prepare and enter payroll related journal entries into accounting system
