Machine Operator

Job Type: 4 months.

Work Site: Fully on-site in Algona, Washington.



Responsibilities:

Oversee Multiple Machines: Manage the operation of four packaging machines, ensuring optimal performance and production quality.

Quality Control: Monitor product quality, packaging weight, and labeling accuracy, ensuring all products meet our high standards.

Material Handling: Occasionally load and unload packaging material onto the machines, ensuring a smooth production flow.

Sanitation Participation: Actively participate in the sanitation process to maintain a clean and safe work environment.

Shift Details:

3rd Shift Openings: 10:30pm-06:15am, $22.57/hr $1.00 shift differential.

2nd Shift Opening: 2:15pm-10:45pm, $22.57/hr $0.50 shift differential .

Schedule: Primarily Monday to Friday, with potential weekend work based on business needs.

Scope of Position:

You will ensure the efficient operation of packaging machines, maintaining proper weight, spicing, sealing, and code dating of finished products. You will troubleshoot and proactively solve potential problems to ensure smooth operations.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Inspect equipment daily for cleanliness and sanitation.

Check metal detectors as instructed.

Conduct changeovers, replacing packaging film as needed.

Coordinate proper spicing with the correct packaging film.

Check code dates for accuracy every 15 minutes.

Inspect bag seams to ensure strong seals.

Work with quality control to ensure standards are met and maintain applicable records.

Maintain efficient equipment operation and proactively solve potential problems.

Communicate with production associates to ensure a positive flow of production and achieve packaging schedule goals.

Skills & Experience:

Minimum two years’ experience in operating food processing equipment.

Thorough knowledge of machinery and sound mechanical ability.

Ability to use production computer programs.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Ability to work independently and make good decisions.

Ability to work in a fast-paced environment under constant production line pressure.

Must be able to lift rolls of film weighing up to 50 pounds regularly during the shift.

Work Environment:

Work in a warm facility during the summer, around machinery and production products such as chips, popcorn, and other goods.

Facility and machinery are cleaned every Friday.

The night shift dedicates the last half of the day on Friday to sanitation work and machinery cleaning before closing up.

The environment can be dirty at times due to dealing with chips and grease.
