Job Title:Retreat Facilitator
Department/Location:USAID LAC/South America Office, Washington DC (home based assignment, except 1 day Retreat in Washington DC)
Reports To:ISPI Project Manager
Type:Consultancy, approximately 30 hours (flexible, dependant on advise from Retreat Facilitator)

Overview: On behalf of USAID LAC/South America IBTCI is seeking a Retreat Facilitator to facilitate a one-day retreat for an 11-person team on or around October 22nd 2024 (tentative, subject to Facilitator availability), including in-person facilitation and preparation in the lead up to the retreat to develop strategic planning for the SA Office. Includes close coordination with Elisa Zogbi, Patrick Goodwin, and Carlos Lamadrid to develop the agenda and exercises to facilitate the retreat.
Responsibilities
Essential Duties/Tasks and Responsibilities:
Deliverables:
– Pre-retreat planning.
– Final agenda developed for retreat with exercises and team building activitiesand materials for retreat.
– Coordinate closely with Elisa Zogbi, Patrick Goodwin, and Carlos Lamadrid leadsin lead up to retreat.
– Facilitate a team wide survey assessment and provide synthesized results to SAleadership.
– Facilitate retreat on October 22nd 2024 (tentative on availability) in Washington DC.
– Agenda, break-out sessions, developing materials and exercises to support sessions, etc.
– Prepare final Retreat Report and a one-year strategic plan.
Qualifications
Minimum Requirements:
– A successful candidate will have at least a high school diploma and relevant formal education and training, and/or completion of a recognized facilitators training program;
– Demonstrable and relevant facilitation experience;
– Capacity to formulate relevant, memorable curriculums;
– Knowledgeable routine assessment and moderation operations;
– Ability to drive critical dialogs about session topics;
– Excellent verbal and written communication skills;
– Respectful, astute, and accommodating;
Education:High school diploma, relevant formal education and training, and/or completion of a recognized facilitators training program.
Preferred Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
– Substantial experience facilitating organizational and strategic planning retreats for reputable organizations, especially international development organizations;
– Prior experience with USAID is a plus;
– Demonstrated experience in organizational design and improvement, strategic planning, promoting leadership development, communications, team building, and change management;
– Advanced oral and written proficiency in English;
– An understanding of the challenges and opportunities faced by USG employees is a plus;
Physical Requirements:This is largely a sedentary position that requires the ability to speak, hear, see, and lift small objects up to 20 lbs.
Supervisory Responsibility:This position does not have supervisory responsibilities.
