Business Project Manager, Specialist
Vanguard
Our mission in Talent Strategy and Development (TS&D) is to be relentless in the pursuit of having the right talent, in the right roles, at the right time. We pursue this through thoughtful design and execution of talent management strategy and processes, delivery of a robust portfolio of enterprise learning and development programs, and continuous enhancement of our offers.
The delivery function in TS&D is a matrixed organization that uses a “flow to work” model. While you would directly report to and huddle with your delivery leader and team, most of your time and work would be spent with offer owners and project teams across TS&D. As offer owners request support throughout the year for a broad portfolio of offers (examples include enterprise level talent processes, learning/development programs, strategy work, and more) you will be dynamically aligned to projects. These alignments are thoughtful and based on several factors such as organizational need, skills needed for the work, capacity, and crew development.
In the S1 delivery specialist role, a person could anticipate being aligned to different offers and processes over time, gaining:
A broad understanding of how we manage and develop talent at Vanguard.
Breadth of experience with talent development offers across the executive, leadership development, and prioritized skill talent segments.
Experience supporting project management, change management, and stakeholder management.
Responsibilities:
Leads a project with limited scope or workstreams within a broader project or program. Develops, implements, and monitors project plans. Contributes expertise to major project deliverables, milestones, and required tasks.
Provides insight on standard processes and common obstacles based on prior experiences. Ensures project goals are aligned with the overall department strategy and business needs.
Communicates project status and issues regularly to partners, including leaders, team members, and senior managers.
Builds and maintains effective relationships. Proactively fosters communication between internal and external project partners.
Develops project plans to address tactical objectives. Develops task plans and schedules, delegates effectively, and manages the work of others. Identifies and documents project risks.
Participates in special projects and performs other duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
Minimum of two years related work experience. One year of managing a project and one year of Financial Services or function-specific experience preferred.
Undergraduate degree or equivalent combination of training and experience.
