In this role, you will set up/operate CNC machines for the machining or processing of metal parts, including changing out tooling as required, in various departments of our Power Transmission division.

Key Responsibilities:

Set up and operate CNC Lathe machines to perform tasks such as turning, drilling, bar feeder, and live tooling.

Optimize set-up times, maximize machine utilization

Ability to run CNC Lathe / Vertical mills

Understand specifications of the tasks by reading blueprints, route instructions

Troubleshoot programs and make adjustments when needed

Setup CNC lathe machines to complete full cycles to produce a high and low volume of parts, improve productivity, maintain offsets, and inspect parts with a high degree of precision

Follow the in-process part inspection process, and notify the Supervisor/Lead on the occurrence of non-conformance.

Communicate with superintendents, managers, production control, and quality personnel for assignments, and resolve quality issues.

Work safely and wear all required PPE for the duration of the shift.

Document all issues written to ensure a smooth transition between shifts

Check and perform preventive maintenance daily.

Work in other areas or departments as assigned.

Schedule: 1st Shift, Monday – Friday, 6:00 AM – 2:30 PM

What are we looking for?

Key Competencies:

Experience in Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) preferred

Knowledge of all required measuring equipment which includes calipers, gauges

Proficient math skills

Knowledge of metals, part-holding fixtures, and lathe/mill tooling

Experience preferred but not limited to the following machines: Hyundai, Haas and Mori CNC turning centers

Simple oral communication skills; ability to read and comprehend instructions written in English and complete simple logs and reports in English

Physically able to handle heavy items, including lifting, pushing, pulling, and positioning components

Work scheduled hours and comply with the companys timekeeping policy and all other company policies

Ability to work in a non-climate-controlled shop environment

Consistently stand for an entire shift

Strong knowledge of machining practices and materials is a must, as is general mechanical knowledge

Willingness to be trained with a desire to learn

Ability to work in a team setting

Great work ethic, reliable, positive attitude
