IT Security Analyst

Summary

Walden Security is seeking an experienced IT Security Analyst to join our growing IT organization. As an

IT Security Analyst, you will be an integral part of the backbone of the company, protecting computer

networks from cyber-attacks, creating and documenting cybersecurity policies and practices for the entire

organization, and deploying and monitoring IT Cybersecurity tools. The IT Security Analyst is ultimately

responsible for ensuring that the companys digital assets are protected from unauthorized access.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Integrate security designs to ensure the organizations proprietary information (data and systems)

are safeguarded. Determines the level of clearance required to access business information.

Investigates security breaches to determine system weaknesses. Conducts testing and

configuration procedures across products and systems. Analyzes security management systems,

enterprise systems, and data files to validate security. Performs security analysis across

networks, databases, and internet/web operations. Evaluate security plans to ensure the integrity

of new and/or existing business operations. Translates and designs security requirements.

Provides management with risk assessment briefings on products and/or services.

Supervisory Responsibilities

• This job has no supervisory responsibilities. The IT Security Analyst reports to the Director of

Information Technology.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems (or similar) OR 5years of relevant professional experience in Information Security

• Experience as a System Administrator / Security Analyst

• Experience implementing, maintaining and monitoring security monitoring utilizing SIEM products

such as Splunk

• Certification: Security or similar

• Demonstrated experience with Security and Identity and Access Management (IAM) tools such as

CyberArk, Okta, CheckPoint, ManageEngine, etc.

• Demonstrated in-depth understanding of Azure Active Directory and on-premise AD

• Strong analytical skills with keen attention to detail

• Leadership experience; self-starter; willing to take work to help the team

• Additional Preferred Qualifications:

• Any additional certifications: CompTIA Cyber Security Analyst (CSA), Certified Information

Systems Security Professional (CISSP), Certified Information Systems Auditor (CISA), CyberArk,

CheckPoint, Okta, etc.

• Experience implementing and/or maintaining Cyber Security Response Plans

• Experience implementing and configuring IT security software and tools

• Familiarity with IT Security controls and standards including NIST, ISO27001, CIS, SOC2, etc.

• Familiarity with network security, Cisco Meraki routers, firewall maintenance

• Familiarity or experience with Microsoft Intune and Microsoft Entra

• Microsoft PowerShell and/or other scripting languages

• Ability to troubleshoot stale accounts and workflows logically and analytically

• Ability to quickly learn and adapt to new technologies

Language Skills

Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations, respond to questions

from groups of managers, clients, customers, other employees of the organization and the general public.

Ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals.

Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees or organization.

Mathematical Skills

Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common

fractions, and decimals.

Reasoning Ability

Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or

diagram form.

Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.

Computer Skills

• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite, Visio (or similar process visualization/documentation tool),

collaboration tools (i.e. MS Teams, SharePoint, Zoom), etc.

• Mac / Apple skills and experience are a plus

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations

Certifications such as CompTIA A, NET or higher a plus

Current/valid state driver’s license

Other Qualifications

Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug screening and background.
