Wyman-Gordon, located in Princeton KY, provides Nickel-based Extruded Powder Alloy for Military and Commercial Turbine Applications. The Princeton MI facility offers Vacuum-Melt Atomizers; for the raw material needs of the Worcester MA forge Isothermal forge shop. This growing, profit center is part of a highly successful, multi-billion diversified manufacturer. Precision Castparts Corporation (PCC).

POSITION TITLE: Maintenance and Facilities Manager

PURPOSE:

This position involves a wide variety of job conditions and off-hour responsibility for plant facilities, which are unique to the Maintenance function. The Maintenance and Facilities Manager directs the Maintenance departments to prepare and fulfill repair, construction, and preventive maintenance schedules which maximize the availability of production equipment and facilities throughout the plant and office areas. Strategic planning, shutdown preparation, equipment troubleshooting, operational improvements, and facilities upkeep are key roles to ensure continued success.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:

  • Position requires excellent communication with all levels of the organization
  • Develop intimate and thorough knowledge of critical equipment to troubleshoot, optimize and drive efficiencies.
  • Ability to successfully navigate, instruct and engage a union workforce
  • Manage budget, schedule, subcontractors and internal personnel on projects
  • Manage and schedule daily facilities work for maintenance personnel
  • Manages and schedules electrical and mechanical contractor work as needed
  • Maximize availability of tools and equipment in the plants through prompt and reliable maintenance.
  • Ensures a well-trained and properly motivated workforce
  • Develops safe and well-maintained departmental areas.
  • Initiates and implements operational improvement efforts
  • Manages, updates and controls the preventative maintenance program on the plant and equipment.
  • General knowledge of electrical, instrumentation and mechanical processes in an industrial environment
  • Contributes to the Company current and long-range budgetary equipment rehabilitation programs consistent with Company objectives.
  • Effectively interprets and administers the Company and bargaining unit document consistent with good management procedures.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelors degree and/or technical certification and/or equivalent work experience.
  • Thorough technical and mechanical knowledge.
  • Demonstrated in-depth knowledge of industrial environments and equipment
  • Proven track record of maintenance planning and project management
  • Union shop experience preferred
  • Experience in maintenance planning and CMMS system a plus

SPECIAL SKILLS AND PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

  • Plant working conditions: hazardous, dirty and subject to weather and temperature extremes.
  • Serve on an on-call basis (24/7), responding to issues and concerns related to maintenance work.
