Business Unit Controller – Valves

We are looking for a Controller to join our Farris team!
Reporting directly to the Farris BU Sr. GM, this position coordinates, administers and controls financial operations for a $100M business unit in the Brecksville OH area.
You will work across the business as a business partner to review, analyze and interpret financial performance and trends. Leads a Finance team across multiply sites globally, and committed to excellence in Business Planning, Analysis, Compliance and Accounting operations

Your Challenge
Ensures compliance with GAAP and other regulatory or governmental requirements such as Sarbanes-Oxley, as well as Corporate policies and procedures. Must stay attuned to early warnings of financial problems, and be able to provide suggestions on decisive action to resolve or address these problems. Administers preparation and timely filing of all financial reporting for Corporate office, governmental and regulatory agencies monthly, quarterly, annually, and as requested
Provide counsel and advice to business units or management teams in developing objectives, strategies and tactics from an accounting and financial perspective. Measures performance against company goals, reveals obstacles to growth and develops strategies to achieve goals.
Ensures accurate and timely reporting of financial statements and analyses and interpretation of past, present and indicated future results of the business unit, relating to sales, costs, profits and rate of return, and provides reports with observations and interpretations.
Oversees the preparation of the annual operating budgets, strategic plans, quarterly & monthly financial performance reviews, and follow up controls and comparisons relating to both short-term and long-term plans.
Ensures that the division has adequate systems of internal control in place to effectively protect company assets, and that the operations are conducted in an efficient, cost effective manner.
Oversee preparation and timely filing of financial reporting for governmental and multiple audit agencies as well as Corporate requirements.
Provide training and guidance to finance staff and non-financial persons across the business
What You Bring
A degree in a Financial management discipline (Accounting or Finance)
Certification in a recognized professional designation or MBA is a plus
10-15 years diverse financial experience in various finance / accounting roles
5 to 7 years in a hands on management position with solid team management and development capabilities.
Strong experience in businesses with multi global manufacturing locations, and industrial product manufacturing. Industrial valve manufacturing experience is preferred.
Strong analysis and planning
Strong interpersonal & communication skills.
Experience with financial systems (OneStream, LN/Baan is a plus)
