Job Summary
Location: Cleveland, OH
This position is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of all Chilled Water and associated equipment, AHUs (Air Houses), and Cooling Units on internal customer owned machinery. Work is performed under direct supervision of the Plant Manager. All interactions with our customer are expected to be professional and courteous while providing the services and support needed for success.
Key Accountabilities
Perform all station shift operation and maintenance, including startup and shutdown of main plant components and auxiliaries
Perform operations in accordance with established SOPs and job safety standards
Respond to abnormalities and take corrective actions consistent with established operating procedures and good engineering practice
Conduct routine tours of the plant to inspect equipment; provide feedback to management and other employees
Comply with all site safety requirements and procedures. Identify safety hazards and take corrective actions as necessary
Maintain accuracy of shift operating logs in Plantlog, records, timesheets, work orders and other administrative documents related to plant operations
Perform plant switching and tagging of equipment in accordance with approved procedures and prudent operations and maintenance practices
Perform mechanical inspections, troubleshooting, and maintenance tasks under direction of Management or Lead O&M Technician
Investigate plant issues, incidents, accidents, and unusual events, and provide analyses, recommendations, reports, and appropriate follow-up plans
Conduct Contractor / Visitor Safety Orientations in accordance with Company Policy
Facilitate pre-job briefs with staff/contractors to ensure worker safety and DTE policies and procedures are followed
Active participant of the site safety team/committee
Develop, assist, and revise operations and maintenance related procedures
Perform and maintain housekeeping standards and duties
Perform routine preventive and predictive maintenance on all systems and equipment; support corrective maintenance efforts on selected equipment when properly trained, observed by the Lead O&M Technician, or supervised by Management
Become Subject Matter Expert or system representative on assigned systems
Perform other duties necessary to fulfill plant requirements
Communicate with other company personnel on site and at other locations. Represent the company in dealing with the customer, vendors, contractors, regulators, and other non-company personnel under the direction of Management
Assist other team members and work with all departments to support the operation in achieving its goals
Willingness to work scheduled and unscheduled overtime and respond to off-hour call-ins when contacted
