5 Childrens is a Pediatric Med Surg floor with 24 private rooms at Helen DeVos Childrens Hospital. Nurses are often drawn to this team, for the variety of patients and the team culture. Our team is competent in caring for a large array of both surgical and medical patients. Specifically, our team is known as being experts in the care of: Ortho, Trauma, Neurosurgery, General Surgery and Psychiatric/Behavioral patient care.

Scope of work
Under supervision of a Nurse and following hospital policies and procedures, performs various nursing care tasks and treatments on assigned patients. Performs routine bedside nursing activities including bathing and personal grooming of patients, vital signs, would care, ambulating, assisting patients with bedpans or urinary devices.

Required High School Diploma or equivalent
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – AHA American Heart Association 90 Days required Or
CRT-Basic Life Support (BLS) – ARC American Red Cross 90 Days required
