Job Summary

Responsible for greeting customers both on the phone and in person. Gathers and updates patient demographics and insurance information and scanning of the necessary documents in addition to collection of co-pays and balance due. Responsible for scheduling appointments, outreach appointments, and procedures for the patient as directed by the physician. Has an understanding of tests, procedures, and preparation required prior to testing and providing instructions to the patient. Performs secretarial duties including preparing of documents to send to other entities for patients appointments, documentation of the referral, and completion of miscellaneous forms.

Education and/or Experience

High school diploma or general education degree; or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience required.

Additional education in other health related field preferred

Written and oral communication skills and medical terminology experience preferred.

Computer knowledge and skills preferred.

Licensure/Certification/Registration

Completion of the Child Abuse & Dependent Adult Abuse courses for Iowa Mandatory Reporters within 90 days of employment and every three years thereafter.

Work Schedule

Day Shift: 8:00 am-5:00pm, occasional weekend; PRN (as needed)

Pay

The hourly range for this position is listed below. Actual hourly rate dependent upon experience.

$17.50 – $22.00 per hour
