The Job
This Retail Analytics Analyst will be responsible for becoming an Ace data knowledge source and executing various store, category, and field-level analytics and projects. Role will develop efficiencies within reporting and analysis. Analyze and report on new Ace initiatives.
What you’ll do:
Learn/absorb the foundational store and retail data to support.
Develop time saving reporting improvements leveraging Alteryx and Microsoft Power BI.
Build the reports, training and capabilities to enable all end users in the various functional corporate departments to produce accurate reporting.
Work with the business area and IT to elicit, define and interpret requirements for projects in a timely fashion.
Work with IT to perform business process analysis to ensure data integrity.
Work cross-functionally with Analytics teams in: Category Management, Marketing, Merchandising, and Acehardware.com
Review reports produced by other groups to identify and address potential discrepancies.
Contribute to the month end reporting including, executive KPI data gathering, assigning peer groups to stores, updating data for our Sales Forecast vendor and maintaining Higher Ground KPI counts.
Analyze and report on new Ace initiatives. develop reporting to analyze individual store and chain level performance both in the short and long term by various store and chain level attributes and operational differences.
Pilot reporting and analysis including pilot store identification and tracking during pilot.
Research questions and concerns regarding number discrepancies between reports, dashboard data, strategic focus metrics.
Handle all New Business analysis, including sensitive markets, change of ownership reporting, Proforma analysis. Master mapping software in Alteryx to provide ongoing near analyses, retail proximity and competitive landscape. Yearly overarching analysis to understand how the most recent maturing stores compare to goals, other stores, forecast and proforma. Compile presentation to Officers, New Business Leaders and New Business Team.
Handle all Labor Force Optimization, retail inventory, and mobile app reporting, including building dashboards for self-service analytics and deep dive analysis when needed. Provide results to leadership, in performance and board reporting.
Streamline Project tracking – develop and maintain reporting on stores doing retail projects. Look for other growth metrics improving as stores do projects. Provide monthly results to project team, leadership and in performance and board reporting.

3-5 years Business / Marketing Analytics Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Marketing, or related field
PC proficiency/Advanced in Microsoft Word and Excel
Analytical, quantitative, and critical thinking
Proficient with MS Excel; experience with data mining and query tools, BI reporting tools preferred
Self-starter, strong drive, highly motivated to make change and bring about fact driven decisions.
Excellent written / verbal communication skills
Personal Accountability and Ownership
Executive presentation experience / Executive presence

Compensation Details:
$ 64000- $79000 per year
