Job Description
Employee performs construction and maintenance of overhead and underground distribution lines and structures using Oncor construction standards manuals. Work is performed under the direction of others and with the approval of the supervisor in charge. Work is done on conductors and equipment energized at distribution voltages using approved protective equipment. Employee will be required to work off wood poles, ladders, and bucket trucks using approved safety practices and rules. Employee is expected to perform other duties as directed. Employee must be able to lift 50 pounds above his/her head on a regular basis. The employee must be able to achieve or has achieved the necessary skill levels to successfully advance in
the Distribution Lineman Training Program within a reasonable time frame commensurate with proven work experience and abilities.
Job Attributes
Must have High School diploma or equivalent and 2 plus years related distribution utility construction work experience. A certificate or degree from an accredited lineman school is preferred. Associates Degree in Electrical Technology or related field is a plus.
Basic computer skills and software such as, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and Outlook a plus.
Able to provide proof of successful lineman and safety training programs
Must hold a Class A CDL drivers license.
Must be able to climb wood poles.
Employee will be required to be on-call in the scheduled rotation, be available for overtime work and 24 hour call-out and be willing to travel outside the district when needed.
Employee is expected to comply with the Code of Conduct at all times and shall participate in the local safety programs.
