Must be able to work onsite at the university and travel to remote locations as needed for onsite support.
On-site position covering all UTA Arlington Campus locations.

Job Summary
The Technology Event Coordinator plays a pivotal role in ensuring seamless audio/visual experiences in academic teaching and learning spaces, as well as conference rooms. Reporting to the AV Support Manager, this position involves planning, implementing, and maintaining instructional technology, coordinating technology installations and upgrades, and providing end user support. The Technology Event Coordinator actively contributes to academic events, prioritizing client outcomes and maintaining a high standard of service.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
AV Support for academic teaching and learning spaces:
Coordinate, plan, and oversee the implementation of instructional technology for new construction, renovations, and learning space refresh cycles using preapproved technology elements.
Provide consultations for appropriate technology solutions, suggesting alternatives when necessary for courses.
Utilize the project reporting and ticketing system to document work associated with technology installations, improvements, and troubleshooting.
AV Support for conference rooms and academic event spaces:
Provide consultations to determine support needs for specialized academic events in learning
spaces and conference rooms.
Coordinate to confirm technology and support are in place for these events.
Utilize an event scheduling system and ticketing system to properly document work and ensure seamless event execution.
Customer Support:
Provide clear technical information to a non-technical audience, ensuring a comprehensive understanding of technology options and upcoming changes in spaces.
Conduct interviews with department staff and faculty, as well as participate in focus groups, to address and prioritize clients’ technology needs.
Documentation:
Assist in the creation of technical documentation for new technology to improve client experience and insure awareness of available technology.
Create documentation for equipment receipt, installation tasks, and technical and sign-off to confirm installation met standard requirements.
Mentorship and Training:
Regularly work with students and peers to support specialized academic events and large installation efforts.
Ensure staff are properly trained to support events they are assigned to assist with.
Provide mentoring so that peers and students will be comfortable with new technology arriving on campus.
Verify all tasks are clearly assigned and completed.
Work with management to resolve issues.
Testing and Evaluation:
Assist with the testing and evaluation of updated instructional technology for learning spaces, digital signs, or conferencing equipment.
Other Duties as Assigned
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree with coursework related to technology such as Information Systems, Computer Science, or Business Administration with two (2) years hands-on computing work experience with audio visual equipment or equivalent relevant experience.
Be able to demonstrate technical familiarity working with networked end point devices (such as laptops, desktops, digital signs, and any audio-visual equipment etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
Four (4) or more years of hands-on computing experience with a focus in higher education, events, and/or AV support situations.
IT certifications, such as CompTIA A, Microsoft Certified Desktop Support Technician, or AVIXA (Audiovisual and Integrated Experience Association) certifications.
Experience with IT project management and Product management training/experience.
Experience with PTZ cameras and broadcast switchers, and expertise in reading blueprints, wiring schematics, and diagrams.
Experience supporting instructional technology in classrooms or labs, along with an understanding of AV control systems and video conferencing/recording systems.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, establishing and maintaining effective working relationships with customers and colleagues.
Proficient teamwork and stakeholder management, interacting with peers and customers in a professional, client-focused manner.
Capable of working both independently with limited direction and in team settings.
Proven analytical and problem-solving abilities, anticipating, identifying, and solving critical problems.
Proficient in operational and maintenance support for AV presentation, production, and video collaboration systems, including Teams, Zoom, Creston/Extron, and Kramer.
Knowledge of the construction industry, best practices, processes, and procedures is extremely helpful.
Stay informed about current and emerging presentation technologies, techniques, and industry best practices.
Display proficiency in using a personal computer and other office equipment, including university software and email.
Effective time and resource management, showcasing proven project planning and management experience.
Ability to drive UTA vehicle.
Ability to complete all physical tasks as needed.
