The Research and Evaluation (REM) program is currently seeking an instructor in research and evaluation methods and analytic techniques. Faculty filling this position will assume a leadership role in undergraduate, graduate, and doctoral education across multiple programs in the college. This requires established expertise in quantitative, qualitative, and mixed methods as well as expertise in evaluation and measurement methods. The duties and responsibilities of the position include but are not limited to: teaching introductory, intermediate, and advanced REM courses; advising students at undergraduate, masters, and doctoral levels; supporting the ongoing refinement and advancement of the REM program.
What you will do:
Teach courses across therange of degree programs including teaching a range of face-to-face, hybrid, remote, and online courses for undergraduate, Masters, EdD, PsyD, and PhD students across SEHD. Specific courses include but are not limited to: Intro Research, Research in Schools, Survey Methods, Basic Stats, Intermediate Stats, Multivariate Statistics, Structural Equation Modeling, Hierarchical Linear Modeling, Program Evaluation, Advanced Measurement.
Support program development and participate in the development and implementation of a strategic process for recruiting students, especially underrepresented groups, into REM.
Provide supervision and mentoring of REM students.
Participate in faculty meetings; provide committee service in the REM program, in SEHD, CU Denver, and in the REM professional field.This position involves working closely with students where the person may become aware of campus safety issues that may need to be reported as part of CUs commitment to compliance with the Clery Act. The person in this role will receive the related training and be required to submit data once per year to the campus Clery Act team. A doctorate in research methodologies or closely related discipline.
Recent leadership and applied work outside of academia.
Ability to provide insight into the wide variety of REM course applications outside of academia.
Demonstrated success in teaching doctoral and masters level courses in REM. Preferred Qualification to possess (Preferred Qualifications)
Experience teaching REM in relation to power, privilege, and social justice issues.
Evidence of success mentoring and chairing thesis and dissertations.
Evidence of success getting grants and collaborating with other faculty, specifically serving as the methodologist.
Evidence of evaluation studies along with research studies.
Experience working with community agencies and other institutions.
Demonstrated success building curriculum to establish a program of study for multiple students and concentration needs.
