Job Overview:

APTIM is currently seeking a mid-level Scientist or Engineer with experience in environmental site investigations and remedial actions to support our growing backlog of projects based out of our Denver, CO office. This position will primarily be office-based associated with the preparation of project work plans, review and interpretation of field data, and preparation of final reports. Technical support associated with scoping and pricing of new opportunities will also be required. Strong familiarity with environmental characterization and remediation techniques required with the ability and experience to recommend and implement appropriate remedial actions, both in-situ and ex-situ. The successful candidate will possess the ability to communicate clearly and confidently, both written and verbally, to all project team members including client representatives, government regulators, and APTIM colleagues alike. Strong people skills with a collaborative demeanor are necessary. This will be a full-time position based out of our Denver, CO office.

Key Responsibilities/Accountabilities:

Preparation of project work plans and reports to meet the objectives of various site characterization and remediation initiatives.

Support project planning and execution in conformance to applicable technical and regulatory standards as well as company policies and procedures.
Applies technical expertise to improve effectiveness of project planning documents and reports, including proposal submittals for new opportunities.
Analyze and prepare raw data into workable form for incorporation into work plans, reports, and other project documents which may include specifications, permits, and cost-estimates.
Provide guidance to project team members; serve as a mentor to entry and junior level technical staff.
On an occasional as-needed basis, support onsite project field teams in site characterization tasks, including oversight of subcontractors.
Work collaboratively in a team environment; possess a “Safety First” work ethic.

Basic Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Geology, Environmental Science or Environmental Engineering.
5-10 years of directly applicable experience in the environmental field.
Active Professional Geologist or Engineer registration or ability to readily obtain preferred.
Previous experience working on DoD-funded projects or CERCLA sites considered as a plus.
Possess 40-hour OSHA HAZWOPER training with current 8-hour refresher certificate.
Ability to occasionally support project field assignments, including the ability to wear PPE.
Must possess a valid drivers license with a clean driving record.
Possess core competency in Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
