JOB OVERVIEW: Supervises The laundry staff to maintain a constant supply of clean linens for the hotel. Assists in assuring cleanliness of guest floor corridors, foyers, stairwells, and public vending areas, and assist room attendants in order to maintain high standards of quality.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
Supervise Laundry staff and operations.
Collect, sort, treat, wash, dry, and fold all laundry used by the hotel and lounge.
Operate washing machines and dryers, while regularly tending to lint traps and detergent supply.
Communicate with housekeeping regarding status of linen stock and transportation of dirty and clean linens.
Able to work with and learn proper handling techniques of chemicals and communicate clearly to the chemical company, Housekeeping Manager, and Maintenance Engineer when there are issues.
Maintain a substantial PAR of clean linen in the laundry room at all times.
Prepare a final stock for housekeeping, according to end-of-day inventory lists.
Assist once a month with Inventory and keep up with reclaim and loss reports.
Clean the laundry room and machines daily to avoid dirty/dusty linens and/or fire hazards.
Stock linen closets with amenities and supplies for room attendants; may include taking supplies directly to room attendants.
Empty room attendant carts of soiled linen and trash.
Comply with attendance rules and be available to work on a regular basis.
Perform any other job related duties as assigned.
Requirements
Must have the ability to communicate in English. Self-starting personality with an even disposition. Maintain a professional appearance and manner at all times. Can communicate well with guests. Must be willing to “pitch-in” and help co- workers with their job duties and be a team player. Ability to lift, bend, stoop, walk, push or pull heavy equipment, and stand for extended periods of time. Lifting may include equipment or furniture weighing up to 100 lbs. Ability to comprehend and follow instructions from supervisor.

You should be adaptable to change in your work area and in House procedures with a willingness to learn new skills and/or improve existing ones, have the ability to solve routine problems that occur on the job and ask for help whenever you are not sure how to do something.
Safety & Security:
The safety and security of our guests and associates is of utmost importance to our House. Every associate should adhere to the House security policies and procedures, particularly regarding key controls, lifting heavy objects, using chemicals, and effectively reporting safety hazards and safety concerns.
