Job DescriptionResponsible for the formation and execution of contracts for business needs, including professional services, construction services, purchase agreements, leases, data and security. Supports and collaborates with the legal department and internal business/technical units to develop statements of work and competitively bid, negotiate and execute agreements. Ensures appropriate contract terms and conditions are in place to protect the financial and commercial interests of the company. Ensures compliance with applicable laws, regulatory requirements and internal controls. Builds and leverages strong working relationships with cross functional teams, including business/technical units, consultants and suppliers to assure cost, quality, and service levels goals are met. Provides knowledge transfer, training and expertise to various business units on contracting practices and procurement.
Requirements
Contract Manager:
Bachelor’s in Business, Engineering, or Marketing preferred.
3 years related purchasing or contract administration experience.
Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and applicable contract law with a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) desired.
Broad knowledge of contracting and purchasing strategies and principles for a wide range of services and moderately complex materials desirable.
Good understanding of UCC and contract law elements.
Work assignments require general knowledge of the electric and natural gas industries, construction contracting, communications, and/or computer-based services.
Experience involving negotiation, purchasing, inventory management, contract administration, mediation, arbitration, and contract claim resolution desirable.
Ability to manage multiple parallel contracting activities involving complexity and risk.
Sr. Contract Manager:
Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, or Marketing required.
5 or more years of related purchasing or contract administration experience.
Uniform Commercial Code (UCC) and applicable contract law with a Certified Purchasing Manager (CPM) or Certified Professional Contract Manager (CPCM) desired.
Advanced supply chain background.
Additional experience in administering and managing contracts for highly technical, complex, or critical materials and/or services.
Training and continuing education demonstrating expertise in dispute resolution, service contract issues, and resource management required.
Other combinations of education and experience will be considered.
Hybrid work options are available for this role. The successful candidate will be required to work at our Spokane, Washington headquarters at least 3 days per week including Mondays and Tuesdays with an additional day determined by the employee and manager.
