Job Responsibilities/Duties
Washington River Protection Solutions (WRPS) manages one of the most challenging radioactive waste cleanup projects in the country. Our focus is reducing the environmental risk posed by 56 million gallons of radioactive and chemical waste stored in 177 underground tanks on the Hanford Site located in Richland, WA. WRPS is in search of a Quality Assurance Engineer (QAE) to be responsible for providing quality assurance/control engineering services in support of the Tank Farm Operating Contact (TOC) activities.
Primary responsibility will be the development, implementation, and maintenance of the QA Management System (QMS). Perform annual reviews and updates of the TOC core QMS documents, including the:
QA Policy
QA Program Description (QAPD)
QA Graded Approach Description
Project Specific QA Program Plans as required.
Ensure the TOC QMS effectively implements DOE 414.1, 10 CFR 830 Subpart A, American Society of Mechanical Engineers (ASME) NQA-1, and other contract commitments.
Coordinate QMS changes with internal stake holders and ensure effective flow down of applicable QA requirements in implementing procedures.
Manage the WRPS Nonconformance Reporting (NCR) process in accordance with NQA-1 Part I Basic Requirement 15.
Develop and maintain procedures, training material, desktop guides, and other implementing tools.
Assist with the deployment and maintenance of NCR tracking databases such as the integrated Contractor Assurance System (iCAS).
Assist with the implementation of the Hanford Analytical Services Quality Assurance Requirements Document (HASQARD) and environmental QA requirements
Manage the WRPS Suspect and Counterfeit Item (S/CI) identification and tracking program.
Provide leadership for quality assurance and quality control support on assigned program(s) and/or areas to ensure that products are designed, procured, and installed in accordance with customer and company quality requirements.
Maintain requirement flow down for applicable QA documents in the IBM Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS)
Demonstrates understanding of the application of Documented Safety Analysis (DSA) and Technical Safety Requirements (TSR) and can review and approve safety basis documents.
Mentor less experienced professionals within the discipline through developing and coordinating work activities.
Required Qualifications
Grade 19:
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Science or related field. Nine (9) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Grade 20:
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Science or related field. Ten (10) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is larger, and the expected level of performance is increased.
Grade 21:
Bachelors degree (BA/BS) in Engineering, Science or related field. Twelve (12) years related experience, or equivalent combination of education and/or experience.
Note the essential duties for this grade level are like that of the previous grade level, however the scope of responsibility is significantly larger, and the expected level of performance is greatly increased.
Desired Qualifications
-Previous experience in DOE O 414.1D and ASME NQA-1.
-Previous experience in DOE/RL-96-98 (HASQARD)
-Previous experience in the development of quality assurance programs
-Significant quality assurance experience in nuclear quality assurance programs.
-Previous experience in corrective action, causes analysis, and extent of condition.
-Experience in the oversight of engineering design, procurement, fabrication, testing, material receipt.
-Previous experience with design engineering, project engineering, or project management
Compensation & Benefits
In accordance with the companys philosophy on compensation for exempt and salaried non-exempt employees, WRPS takes into consideration a variety of factors when determining initial salary to include assigned job scope and responsibility, a candidates qualifications as compared to internal comparators performing in a similar role, and the external labor market. A salary offer will be made within the targeted hiring range posted. Note a candidates prior salary history will not be taken into consideration.
Hiring Range Minimum: $114,475
Hiring Range Maximum: $174,900
