Description:

The R&D Engineering Techs provides technical support to the Engineering functional groups.

The technician will need to understand and perform tasks from written and verbal requirements; setup computers, instrumentation, test cells and equipment, and collect useful data in evaluating performance.

Must be able to interpret engineering drawings and electrical schematics.

Main Tasks: Fabrication, assembly, modification, machining, brazing, refrigerant lines, forklift operation and overhead crane operation, electrical safety awareness

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

AA/AS degree, Technical/Business School Certificate or Diploma, Skilled Trades Apprenticeship, or other post high school training (two years duration).

Minimum of 3-5 years’ experience

The person in this position must have strong hands-on mechanical aptitude.

Must also be able to read and understand engineering drawings and models to assemble units and modify parts.

Individuals must be able to work effectively with others and provide feedback and suggestions to the engineering staff.

They prize adaptability: this person will work in multiple locations and teams. This role is dynamic

EPA 608 Universal Certification Required

Knowledge of HVAC systems at the component level

Ability to read and interpret technical drawings

Basic understanding of electrical wiring

Braze copper

Operate power and hand tools

Operate an overhead crane

Experience using Microsoft Word, Excel, and Outlook

Knowledge of lockout/tagout electrical safety procedures.

Soft Skills:

Positive attitude and ability to be flexible.

This is all new product development so there arent SOPs in most cases.

This group is part of a matrix organization so they will be working with techs and engineers from other groups.
