Position Summary :

The Career Service Advisor will work with current students, recent graduates and alumni in Bryant & Stratton College’s (BSC) clinical and non-clinical programs. An essential role in this position is business development to actively seek and develop business partnerships with employers to establish an employment pipeline for BSC students and graduates in addition to sourcing employment opportunities for graduates. Additionally, it is essential that candidates demonstrate creative abilities to plan events and create opportunities to engage students and employers while on campus. Career Services Advisors provide career planning assistance to students and graduates to include training on interviewing skills, resume preparation and job search strategies. Must demonstrate a mastery of Microsoft Excel, have strong attention to detail, self-starter, creativity, organization, outstanding customer service, be comfortable presenting in front of a group/class and be flexible in a growing and changing environment. Bachelor’s degree required.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

Effectively identify viable job and internship opportunities relating

Assist graduates of BSC with securing employment in their field of study

Assist students with goal development, resume preparation, and interviewing strategies / techniques

Initiates, develops, and manages business partnerships with employers to establish career and networking opportunities for BSC recent graduates, alumni, and current students.

Coordinate employer visits, create and implement engaging on-campus recruiting events, job fairs, networking events, and career development workshops.

Demonstrate strong classroom and employer presentation skills with the ability to present workshops on resume writing, interviewing, job search techniques and other career-related topics

Participate in community events and professional associations, promoting the College to area employers and influencers

Ensure student and graduate employment information is maintained up-to-date in College database and student files.

Ensure appropriate documentation is collected to support reported graduate employment or waiver statuses for accreditation.

Assist in collection of medical graduate and employer surveys and employment verifications

Research and communicate current job postings to active candidates on a regular basis (utilize Handshake)

Develop and manage creative Career Services campus events

Demonstrate a mastery of Microsoft Excel and the collection and analysis of statistical data

Well-developed oral and written communication skills.

Excellent organizational and analytical skills

Ability to work independently, with a team, as well as with various constituents.

Ability to serve as a professional role model for students and graduates

Provides excellent customer service to students, graduates and employers

Work and communicate effectively with all campus departmental staff including faculty and Program Directors

May need to travel to Liverpool Campus on occasion as needed

Other duties may be assigned to meet College/Department needs

Qualifications:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Requires excellent communication skills, be open and flexible to change in role or job duties as needed, proficiency in computer applications, self-motivated, desire to meet and/or exceed goals with creative solutions and problem solving, build strong student, employer and faculty relationships and the ability to handle multiple tasks. This position requires the ability to communicate effectively at all levels of the organization and effective interaction across the College must be maintained.

Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor’s degree required.

3-5 years of related experience – recruiting, staffing, business to business sales, career coaching event planning.

This position requires some flexibility with scheduling.

Starting Salary:

$45,500 per year ($21.88 per hour)

This position is eligible for overtime.

At Bryant & Stratton College, it is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the range for their role and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case.
