Repair and Maintenance Technician

Position Summary : Repairs, adjusts, or maintains construction equipment.Essential Duties and Responsibilities :Observes all safety procedures, rules and regulations, and instruction in performance of job duties.Familiar with portable power equipment mechanics, electro mechanics, small engines, small gas and electric tool repairRepairs or maintains the operating condition of construction equipment.Repairs or replaces broken or malfunctioning equipment components.Disassembles equipment to remove parts and make repairs and reassembles equipment after completion of inspections, testing, or repairs.Observes and tests the operation of equipment to diagnose malfunctions, using various testing devices.Cleans, lubricates, or adjust parts, equipment, or machinery.Examines parts for defects, such as breakage or excessive wear; evaluates units to ensure they operate properly.Repairs gas, hydraulic, pneumatic and electrical powered portable hand tools and equipment.Operates newly repaired equipment to verify the adequacy of repairs.Analyzes test results, machine error messages, or information obtained from operators to diagnose equipment problems.Records parts or materials used and orders or requisitions new parts or materials as necessary.Records repairs and maintenance performed and stores product in correct warehouse location.Studies manufacturers manuals to determine correct installation or operation of machinery.Demonstrates equipment functions and features to machine operators.Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:Familiar with portable power equipment mechanics, electro mechanics, small engines, small gas and electric tool repairMust be able to perform routine maintenance on equipment and determine maintenance needed which includes determining the proper tools and equipment necessary to complete a job.Must have the ability to troubleshoot to determine causes of operating errors and the solutions to resolve the issues.Must have working knowledge of computer systems to search for parts and diagrams.Must have the ability to conduct tests and inspect products or processes and evaluate the quality of repairs.Level of Education and Experience:High School diploma or equivalency is required.Prior experience working with construction equipment is desired but not necessary.Physical Demands :The physical demands described below are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential duties and responsibilities of this job.
