Job Description

The individual will be responsible for cleaning hospital rooms in the hospital. Mostly discharges (when someone is discharged and the room is sanitized in between patients). There will be a ton of walking involved so candidates must be comfortable being on their feet all day. Duties include wiping down equipment, emptying trash, sweeping floors, and dusting. They will also clean up spills, mop, and swipe down surfaces as needed. Attention to detail is important as there are multiple floors to cover. Employees will use iPhones issued by the hospital to get their assignments and work orders for the day. If the employee forgets how to clean something, tutorials can be accessed via the iPhones. Must have experience working with smartphone technology. The hospital is large, and employees must be able to learn the floor plan within a reasonable amount of time. They have the following openings available right now: 1- 2nd Shift- 5pm-1:30am M-F. Employees in the EHS department work a rotating schedule. All candidates must work every other weekend and every other major holiday (Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year’s Day, etc.).

Work Site

This is a fully on-site position in Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania.

Work Environment

Very fast-paced. #1 trauma center, so there is a lot an employee may see that would be jarring to an average individual. Must be patient with the work environment. Our plan is to bring a lot of people on at one time for the hospital, and it could be a few weeks before they have a badge, which can be frustrating.
