THE POSITION

DESCRIPTION OF WORK
As a Dental Assistant, you will work with our experienced dentists to provide basic dental services to inmates. You will assist during examinations and treatments, schedule appointments, and manage daily patient flow. You will also provide chairside assistance, maintain dental office equipment, and perform dental laboratory procedures. It is important that you uphold professional dental standards while adhering to security and custody regulations at all times.

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
Work hours are 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM, Monday – Friday, with a 30-minute lunch.
This position is eligible for full retirement benefits at age 50 or 55.
Salary:In some cases, the starting salary may be non-negotiable. Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting annual salary of $36,773.00 (before taxes).

  REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS
Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
One year of experience in a dental office or clinic; or
Successful completion of an accredited Dental Assisting certificate program; or
An equivalent combination of experience and training.

Special Requirements:
Successful completion of the Radiation Health and Safety (RHS) Exam as required by the Pennsylvania State Board of Dentistry.

Additional Requirements:
Successful completion of basic training in Elizabethtown, PA is required..
You must be able to perform essential job functions.
