Summary This position is located in the Department of Health & Human Services (HHS), Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS), Center for Program Integrity (CPI), Provider Enrollment & Oversight Group (PEOG), Division of Provider Enrollment Appeals (DPEA). As a Regulatory Analyst, GS-0301-12, you will provide day-to-day regulatory and policy analysis support to the development and implementation of the Groups or a Divisions provider/supplier enrollment programs. Responsibilities Research provider enrollment, administrative action, administrative appeal, and related regulations to make recommendations concerning the outcome of administrative actions and appeals. Coordinate the review of Departmental and other Federal agency documents and ensures CPI responses are consistent with Division and Group policies. Compose draft decisions that represent CMS’s determinations related to Medicare enrollment effective date of approval, denial, and revocation. Engage with a variety of stakeholders in relation to policies and procedures surrounding administrative actions. In order to qualify for the GS-12, you must meet the following: You must demonstrate in your resume at least one year (52 weeks) of qualifying specialized experience equivalent to the GS-11 grade level in the Federal government, obtained in either the private or public sector, to include: Analyzing regulations, statutes, case law, or policy statements to determine the impact on the organization; AND Researching regulations, policy statements, or other guidance to draft decisions on administrative actions and appeals; AND Providing feedback to management or stakeholders on proposed changes to legislation, statutes, regulations, or policies that affect the organization. Substitution of Education for Experience: There is no substitution of education to meet the specialized experience requirement at the GS-12 grade level. Combination of Experience and Education: There is no combination of experience and education to meet the specialized experience requirement at the GS-12 grade level. Experience refers to paid and unpaid experience, including volunteer work done through National Service programs (e.g., Peace Corps, AmeriCorps) and other organizations (e.g., professional; philanthropic; religious; spiritual; community, student, social). Volunteer work helps build critical competencies, knowledge, and skills and can provide valuable training and experience that translates directly to paid employment.
