Job Summary
Dominion Energy seeks a highly motivated Instrument Technician I, II, or III. There is one position available that will be filled at the level commensurate with the successful candidate’s knowledge, skills, and abilities.
Computer, Control Systems, and DCS programming and maintenance. Computer software, firmware, and hardware maintenance. Understand and maintain block logic and algorithms. Understanding of Microsoft data bases. Working and maintaining HMI configurations. Interfacing with control systems using various software programs. Inspect, test, service, repair, configure, calibrate, and install indicating, recording, and automatic control instruments such as flow meters, pressure gauges, thermometers, regulators, systems, and similar components in a power station. Locate cause of defective performance of instruments, report findings to supervisor, and replace component parts as required. Use portable pressure gauges, manometer, and other similar test equipment. Perform preventive maintenance. Read meters and record data as required. This level works on complex and detailed systems and equipment. Perform required engineering functions for control loop modifications. Maintain drawings and configuration documentation as related to instrumentation. Act as project leader for control system upgrades and/or modifications. May train and guide less experienced Instrument Technicians.
Must have availability and flexibility to work OT as needed, including days, nights, weekends and holidays.
Required Knowledge, Skills, Abilities & Experience
The knowledge, skills, abilities, and experience required for entry into this job include the following:
Minimum Requirements (Note: A partial year of related work experience of 6 months or greater will be considered one year towards the qualifications):
• Instrument Technician I: Associates Degree in Electronics or related technology, with 0-2 years of related experience OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 2 years of related experience.
• Instrument Technician II: Associates Degree in Electronics or related technology, with at least 3 years of related experience OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 5 years of related experience.
• Instrument Technician III: Associates Degree in Electronics or related technology, with at least 5 years of related experience OR High School Diploma or GED with at least 7 years of related experience.
Additional Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities for every Levels:
• Control systems knowledge and skills from educational programs and / or work-related experience
• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot various components.
• Ability to utilize configuration drawings.
• Valid Drivers license.
Preferences (If you meet any of these preferences, be sure to include them in your resume):
• Power station instrumentation and controls experience;
• Start-up/operational support experience for power plants;
• Experience with Emerson Ovation;
• Control system upgrade experience;
• PLC experience (to include ladder logic programming)
• Strong computer experience, preferably working in a network/IT capacity or experience in electronic component troubleshooting.

Degree or an equivalent combination of education and demonstrated related experience may be accepted in lieu of preferred level of education:
Associate
Preferred Disciplines: Preferred: Technical Studies

Dependent on sharing functional responsibilities for the position. North Anna and Surry must meet ANS 3.1 12/79, Section 4.5.2Millstone must meet ANSI N18.1-1971, Section 4.5.2
