Job Summary: Under the direction and supervision of the ED RN, administers care consistent with standard of care to include: Administering medications in accordance to the Paramedic scope of practice; providing personal hygiene assistance or total care; assistance with ADLs; transport of patients to various destinations throughout facility for tests and treatments and for admission; proactively managing room turnover and cleaning rooms between ED patients; assists with waiting room flow management; monitoring of vital signs; initiating IV sites; performing phlebotomy; collecting specimens lab and/or point of care testing to include but not limited to finger stick blood glucose; performing EKGs within acceptable emergent timeframes according to established guidelines; observing cardiac monitors and reporting any abnormalities or unusual rhythms to the RN or physician immediately.

Active Paramedic Certification; National Registry or South Carolina State Certification
Advanced Cardiac Life Support required
Basic Cardiac Life Support required
