Job Title: Manufacturing Engineer
Job Description
Responsible for applying engineering principles and analytical techniques to establish and continuously improve manufacturing processes and products. Investigate and solve problems related to tooling, equipment, and processes. Analyze and plan workforce utilization, space requirements, and workflow, designing the layout of equipment and workspace for maximum efficiency. Develop, recommend, and implement changes to improve manufacturing processes and product quality. Assist the Process Line Manager in developing capital and expense budgets. Evaluate new products and make recommendations relative to manufacturing feasibility. Train department personnel in safety, setup, operations, and troubleshooting of existing and new equipment. Estimate production rates, setup, and tooling costs for inquiry and new part setup. Specialize in a skill set such as PLC programming, welding, automation, vision system, etc. Ensure compliance with the plant’s safety policy, legal requirements, and operational controls. Provide support as requested by the supervisor and demonstrate problem-solving on the shop floor. Display a sense of urgency and results-oriented mindset. Show evidence of leadership characteristics and extensive knowledge of Lean techniques.
Hard Skills
3 years experience working with rubber, plastic, foam, or compression mold equipment
Bachelors Degree in Engineering
Mold Tooling experience
Process troubleshooting knowledge

This is a fully on-site position in Athens, Alabama.
