We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Director of Operations to lead our Central Ohio Distribution Center. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in distribution and logistics, a passion for technology, and a proven track record of optimizing operations. This role will be critical in driving operational excellence, improving productivity, and ensuring the highest levels of customer satisfaction. This Director leads a team consisting of Assistant Director, Managers and Supervisors and a staff of 200 employees. The Central Ohio DC is equipped with state of the art automation including four A-Frames, an OSR, PIE robot, tote buffer, INIT and closeout stations and automated tote palletizer.
DC Operations Management
Drive operational efficiency and throughput to meet business objectives and customer expectations.
Establish and maintain Labor Management and Quality programs.
Ensure internal process SOPs are followed to meet productivity, quality, and regulatory requirements.
Regulatory Compliance
Ensures DCs compliance with all government and corporate regulations and reporting requirements including OSHA, DEA, CSMP, DOT, FDA, and corporate/regional directives and programs.
Directs the careful management of all local security and safety programs to protect company assets and welfare of personnel.
Human Resource Management
Responsible for consistent application of field HR policies/practices and ensuring employee/management relations support optimal team performance.
Ensures compliance with all government regulations and statutes in the area of employment, wage & hour, and EEO/AA.
Responsible for providing leadership and support for on-going training initiatives for management and employees, including development of plans for succession and professional development of local management staff.
Ensures the use of recruitment activities which result in the selection of qualified, superior candidates.
Directs staff to provide a work environment that fosters creativity, productivity, collaboration, and accountability.
Transportation Management
Works closely with our delivery partners to ensure deliveries meet the customers contractual obligations and provide outstanding customer experience.
Ensures delivery partners adhere to safety and security protocols.
Financial Performance
Manage DC cost center and P&L.
Minimum Requirement
Degree or equivalent experience. Typically requires 12 years of professional experience and 4 years of management experience.
Education
4-year degree in related field or equivalent experience.
Critical Skills
7 years operational and leadership experience overseeing team operations including tactical aspects of distribution operations, warehouse management, labor management, project management, and financial management.
5 years change management experience creating and implementing continuous improvement to reduce costs, streamline processes, and improve core operating procedures.
4 years experience managing managers and supervisors in a production, distribution, or manufacturing environment.
4 years experience developing teams with diverse backgrounds inclu
