Chevron Renewable Energy Group is accepting online applications for the position of Biodiesel Operator, Loader located near Newton, Iowa through October 22nd, 2024, at 11:59 p.m.
The purpose of this job is to be responsible for and assist with performing the maintenance of all equipment in the factory, identifying and ordering spare parts, working with contractors to maintain and upgrade the plant, and improving the reliability of the plant. This position is also responsible for ensuring the plant is maintained in a safe and clean condition.
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:
Maintain the Plant
Perform preventive maintenance tasks
Support predictive maintenance practices
Perform Corrective maintenance
Perform failure analysis and implement improvements
Update and maintain the CMMS information for the plant
Enter work order information into the CMMS
Calibrate, maintain, troubleshoot and repair plant controls, valves, and instruments
Troubleshoot and repair Motor Control Centers
Operate Utility systems
Boilers
Air compressors
Water Treatment systems
Operate equipment such as skid steers, fork truck, rail movers, lifts, etc.
Required Qualifications:
High School Diploma
2-year associates degree on Industrial technology, Instrumentation Technician, Industrial technician or equivalent
2-5 years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications:
Experience in a process plant or production environment experience in biofuels, petrochemical or agricultural sectors preferred
Attention to detail
Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing to provide technical expertise as required
Manage multiple tasks simultaneously and in a timely manner to meet deadlines
Work independently or with others as a team to complete assigned projects
Awareness of new technical developments and ability of applying new knowledge to the processes in place at REG
Basic computer skills including excel, word, and outlook
Strong technical background
Special skills or knowledge preferred:
Instrumentation and/or controls
Centrifugal pump operation and maintenance
Millwright or mechanic training
Welding skills or Certification
Cause analysis
Relocation will not be eligible
International assignments

Once complete, your assessment score will be valid for 180 days. Should you re-apply for another Job Requisition within this timeframe that includes the Operations Assessment, you will be required to complete the application process and then click on the assessment link. This will resubmit your previous results.
Chevrons tests are focused on industrial aptitudes. However, Armed Services Vocational Aptitude Battery (ASVAB) test preparation guides may be helpful in preparation for these tests. Candidates should focus on mechanical aptitude, reading comprehension, understanding information in tables and graphs, and understanding industrial math.
