We are looking for a skilled Technology Systems Designer who will be responsible for creating comprehensive design documents for a wide range of technology systems. The ideal candidate will have expertise in CAD and Revit drawings and possess a strong understanding of various technology systems including access control, audio visual, fire alarm, video surveillance, and more. The Technology Systems Designer will play a critical role in ensuring that our projects meet the highest standards of quality and functionality.
ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES
Develop detailed design documents, including CAD drawings, Revit drawings, and submittals, for various technology systems.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to understand project requirements and objectives.
Conduct site surveys and assessments to gather relevant information for system design.
Utilize industry best practices and standards to ensure the efficiency, reliability, and scalability of technology systems.
Coordinate with vendors and suppliers to select appropriate equipment and materials for each project.
Review and analyze technical specifications, drawings, and other project documents to identify potential issues or conflicts.
Provide technical support and guidance to installation teams during the implementation phase of projects.
Stay updated on emerging technologies, trends, and innovations in the field of technology systems design.
QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS
High school diploma or equivalent.
Two (2) year degree in electrical construction, electrical design for construction or similar preferred.
Experience in electrical construction and design would be preferred.
NICET I or II certification in fire alarm systems preferred.
CAD Design knowledge.
3D/BIM experience using Revit.
Excellent planning and organizational skills.
Ability to work independently and self-motivate.
Attention to detail and strong problem-solving skills.
Strong verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills.
Proficient with Microsoft Excel, Word, and Outlook.
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
This job operates in a professional office environment.
This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.
This position requires the ability to lift files and open file cabinets.
Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.
This position may occasionally lift up to 15 pounds.
