ROLE AND RESPONSIBILITIES

This role will be responsible for the development and performance of all outside sales of mechanical and electronic door hardware to new and existing customers. This role will work closely with and assist field staff with technical support and design suggestions.

Interact with existing and potential customers via in person meetings and other forms of communication.

Meetings may require travel to various locations for sales opportunities and measurements for product.

Generate new account sales and grow existing accounts utilizing add-on and upsell sales techniques.

Receive, process, and follow up on customer orders.

Maintain accurate and up to date customer records.

Provide exceptional customer service.

Assist the purchasing department with sourcing parts when necessary.

Communicate with product representatives and factory sales representatives.

Continuous development in product knowledge of mechanical door hardware, doors and frames, master keying systems, and electronic access control systems.

Other duties as assigned.

QUALIFICATIONS AND EDUCATION REQUIREMENTS

High school diploma or equivalent.

Bachelor’s degree in Business, Marketing, or related field preferred or comparable experience.

A minimum of 5 years of experience in door hardware sales, project management or related field.

Knowledge of materials, methods, and the tools involved in the low voltage electrical industry.

Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, sales tactics, resource allocation, leadership techniques, production methods and the coordination of manpower and resources.

Ability to develop specific goals and plans to prioritize, organize and accomplish the goals.

Ability to understand the scope of the contract documents and the scope of the associated electrical work to be performed.

Strong written and verbal communication skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Self-motivated and results driven.

Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite and ability to learn internal software program.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

This job operates in a professional office environment.

This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, filing cabinets, photocopiers and fax machines.

This position requires the ability to lift files and open file cabinets.

Employees are frequently required to sit, stand, and occasionally required to bend, kneel, reach, stoop, or crouch.

This position may occasionally lift up to 50 pounds.
