Job/Position DescriptionThis is a temporary position that is expected to end on 08/31/2025. Upon hire, the selected candidate will be required to sign a Temporary Employment Agreement. Comprehensive Compensation Package:Annual Starting Salary$36,901.20Employer Paid Health Benefits$3,735.60 Vacation Leave Accrued Annually$1,845.06Sick Leave Accrued Annually$1,845.06Total Annual Starting Salary and Benefit Package$44,326.92 Note: This is a representation and actual compensation packages may vary.Essential Job FunctionsAs a Texas Works Advisor I (TWA I) / Medical Eligibility Specialist I (MES I) / Hospital Base Worker I (HBW I) you will receive paid, formal, training to perform the following essential job functions:and#149;Interview applicants and recipients in person or by inbound or outbound telephone calls to obtain pertinent financial and personal information to determine financial eligibility for public assistance programs.and#149;Evaluate data from various electronic and other sources to enter information into a computer-based eligibility system.and#149;Compute and authorize benefits based on eligibility determination. and#149;Process work in accordance with state and federal regulations and established procedures, guidelines and timeframes. and#149;Perform other duties, as assigned.Registrations, Licensure Requirements or CertificationsNoneKnowledge Skills Abilitiesand#149;Use fact-finding techniques to obtain, relate and evaluate information provided by applicants.and#149;Read, understand, apply and explain detailed regulations and policies. and#149;Perform basic arithmetic functions.and#149;Manage time efficiently by establishing priorities in accordance to importance of deadlines.and#149;Establish and maintain effective work relationships with others. and#149;Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing. and#149;Operate computers to perform data entry and basic office software use such as Microsoft Word, Outlook and Excel.and#149;Follow written and oral directions and instructions.
