HP is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Cyber Risk Data Scientist to join our Cybersecurity, Governance, Risk, and Compliance department. The successful candidate will specialize in risk management, risk quantification, and data science. The Cyber Risk Data Scientist role will assist with managing cyber risks using industry standard methodologies and data science practices in order to protect HPs reputational and financial health.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide support to overall GRC program through various strategic initiatives.

Risk Quantification: Develop and implement robust methodologies to quantify and measure various types of risks, including financial, operational, and reputational risks.

Risk Assessment: Evaluate the potential impact and likelihood of identified risks on HPs business objectives

Value at Risk (VaR) Estimation: Employ VaR models to assess the potential losses that HP may incur due to a cyber incident

Data-Driven Decision Making: Analyze data from GRC technologies to identify emerging risks and provide insights to support data-driven decision-making.

AI and Machine Learning: Leverage AI and machine learning algorithms to develop predictive models for risk identification and assessment.

Big Data Analytics: Utilize big data analytics techniques to analyze large datasets and extract meaningful insights related to risk factors.

Qualifications:

Strong individual leadership skills that are demonstrated via high-level of collaboration and teamwork amongst direct team and strategic stakeholders, that deliver value-added results.

Ability to form relationships and cultivate a positive working environment.

Strong understanding of risk management principles and methodologies.

Advanced degree in quantitative finance, statistics, economics, or a related field.

Proficiency in statistical analysis and data modeling techniques.

Experience with AI, machine learning, and big data analytics tools and platforms.

Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Strong familiarity with risk management frameworks such as NIST, ISO.

Knowledge of financial modeling and valuation techniques.

Programming skills (e.g., Python, R).

Highly Preferred Qualifications:

Experience with administration of Risk Management platforms.

Experience in the technology industry or a related field.

Education & Experience Recommended

Four-year or Graduate Degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or any other related discipline or commensurate work experience or demonstrated competence.

Typically has 7-10 years of work experience, preferably in cyber & IT security, or a related field.

The base pay range for this role is $102,500 to $157,850 annually with additional opportunities for pay in the form of bonus and/or equity (applies to US candidates only). Pay varies by work location, job-related knowledge, skills, and experience.
