Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the CNO/DON and demonstrates proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process, contributes to the nursing assessment and the development of nursing care plan, and participates in the evaluation of nursing care. Experienced in labor and delivery. Shares responsibility for individual patients or an entire patient population. Accepts cross training requirements in all bring departments. Assists in other areas not shown on their schedule as needed by the hospital and patient care.
Physical Requirements:
May be expected to lift up to 20-30 pounds occasionally. Ability to turn and move patient with minimal assistance (120lbs)
Ability to stand on feet for minimum of 8 hours a day.
OSHA Exposure Classification:
Job Category I. Task/activities does entail predictable or unpredictable exposure to blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Ability:
Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S
College degree and current State Registered Nurse Licensure
Ability to relate and work effectively with others
Demonstrated skills in verbal, written English and public speaking ability
Is aware of professional standards, and regulations
Labor and Delivery experience
Must have a BLS before first day of work
Must have or obtain within 18 months of employment: ACLS, NRP
12 hour shifts
