Job Summary:
Under the direct supervision of the CNO/DON and demonstrates proficiency in administering the fundamentals of the nursing process, contributes to the nursing assessment and the development of nursing care plan, and participates in the evaluation of nursing care. Experienced in labor and delivery. Shares responsibility for individual patients or an entire patient population. May be exposed to stressful, critical, and traumatic events due to the nature of emergent situations. Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S. Current State Registered Nurse Licensure. Ability to relate and work effectively with others. Demonstrates skills in verbal, written English and public speaking. Is aware of professional standards, and regulations. Must have BLS before first day of employment, Must have or obtain within 18 months of employment: ACLS,PALS, ENPC, or TNCC. It should be understood that cross-training may occur and nurse may help in other units to fulfill hospital and patient care needs.
Physical Requirements:
May be expected to lift up to 20-30 pounds occasionally. Ability to turn and move patient with minimal assistance (120lbs)
Ability to stand on feet for minimum of 8 hours a day.
OSHA Exposure Classification:
Job Category I. Task/activities does entail predictable or unpredictable exposure to blood or other body fluids to which universal precautions apply.
Qualifications, Knowledge, and Ability:
Demonstrates eligibility for employment in the U.S
College degree and current State Registered Nurse Licensure
Ability to relate and work effectively with others
Demonstrated skills in verbal, written English and public speaking
Is aware of professional standards, and regulations
Must have a BLS before first day of employment
Must have or obtain within 18 months of employment: ACLS, PALS, ENPC or TNCC

12 hour shifts
