Preconstruction Director

Job Description

Seeking a Preconstruction Manager or Director with experience in commercial, retail, or industrial projects.

The position manages a team of preconstruction estimators, directs, coordinates, and participates in the preparation of assigned estimates based on an Owners/Architects designs through construction documents.

The ideal candidate will have preconstruction experience, though a Sr. Estimator may also be considered.

Candidates must come from a General Contractor—experience with multi or single-family projects will not be considered.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Architecture or Engineering, and/or 10 years of applicable estimating, design management and/or field management experience.

Ability to work on multiple projects at once

Demonstrates experience in leadership in a team and client environment.

Knowledge and understanding of construction strategy and contracts.

Thorough knowledge of building construction, materials, systems, market conditions and trade practices, including sustainable building practices.

Ability to conceptualize a project using minimal information and the ability to quickly develop an understanding of the Owner/Architect requirements.

Excellent oral and written communication skills.

Familiarity with On-Screen Take-off, Microsoft 365 Suite and Project.
