Job Overview
Employees in this role lead a team of engineers and technical specialists that perform engineering functions. This job is responsible for applying diversified knowledge of engineering principles and practices to a broad variety of assignments and related fields. Employees in this role evaluate, select, and apply standard techniques, procedures, and criteria to perform a task or sequence of tasks for conventional renewable generation substation projects. This role provides direction on projects to the department or project team members.
Travel between worksites and other locations is an essential job function and expectation of the position. You must hold a valid drivers license . Selected candidates will be expected to spend a portion of their time attending meetings at other worksites or in the field. Those selected for a Substation project engineering position will occasionally be required to drive to various renewable generation substations projects across Florida..
Qualifications
Certified Professional Engineer (PE)
Six Sigma Black Belt Certified
Six Sigma Green Belt Certified
Six Sigma Yellow Belt Certified
Bachelor’s degree in Electrical, Mechanical or Civil/Structural engineering
4 years’ experience in Substation design and engineering of High Voltage substation projects is highly preferred.
Project Engineering and/or Project Management experience with a strong bias for action.
PMP and/or P.E. in related discipline is a plus.
